🍗 Hosting Thanksgiving?! Here is the FIRST thing you need to do! 🍂

Happy November!

I can't believe It's Novemeber already!! 🍂

I posted a poll recently on my Instagram story asking how many of you are hosting Thanksgiving this year and 46% are (that they know of so far!)

So if you are hosting OR helping a family member or friend host, I am here to help!

It can be VERY overwhelming but 100% manageable (and even a little fun) if you PLAN AHEAD! I know 4 weeks seems far away but it will be here before you know it.

Over the coming weeks I will be sharing recipes, tips and my FAVORITE entertaining items that help make Thanksgiving a whole lot less stressful.

Step #1

Order Items NOW! 🍁

One mistake you don't want to make is to wait until last minute to get key items. Shipping can take weeks this time of year!! The only shopping that should be happening the week of Thanksgiving should be for food and alcohol.

Amazon items to order now are:

  • Chafing Dishes: If you're planning on setting up a buffet table, these are life savers!! You do not need to buy expensive ones. You can purchase disposable ones too. My favorite chafing dishes are actually these ELECTRIC ONES! No water or flames needed. Everyone borrows them from me. :)
  • Tableclothes: Get yourself one that fits your tables. It's nice if they all matched too! This one is more festive. This one is reversible!
  • Tablesettings: Get the items like chargers, plates, bowls, utencils and napkins out of the way! Decide if you're going plastic, paper (I ordered those last year!) or ceramic? I have to admit, some plastic plates are beautiful!
  • Centerpiece: What is going down the center of your table? Don't overdo it! You still want to see family on the opposite side and leave room for the food right? I suggest doing a simple runner of mini pumpkins, votive holders, and faux florals or greenery. THIS garland is beautiful and comes in two shades.
  • Gravy Boat: Believe it or not, this is one of the most commonly forgotten item that people order last minute.
  • Serving Spoons/Tongs: These are something I did NOT have enough of when hosting my first Thanksgiving. Don't make the same mistake I did!!
  • Roasting Pan: If you don't have one, this is item #1.
  • Turkey Platter: Everyone needs a festive platter to serve that beautiful roasted turkey on. This one is simple but classy.
  • Oven Thermometer: Stop relying on that red button to pop! It's not accurate. Get yourself one of these instead. It will let you know exactly when your turkey is done so no dry turkey this year!

Remeber, order now because shipping delays are REAL in November. Which items are you ordering? Is there something I forgot? Next week I'll share what to do next as well as share recipe ideas with tips. :)

Happy Hosting!

Last week I sent an email about my TOP ITEMS to order now for Thanksgiving. If you missed it, you can read it HERE! (It's a good one!) Today, I wanted to talk about planning your Thanksgiving MENU. Once all the items are ordered (see previous email), the next most important thing is to PLAN your menu! It's never too early to plan the food. I believe there are TWO types of Thanksgiving hosts in this world. Those who always make the same things every SINGLE year. And those risk trying new...
