๐Ÿ—๏ธ Plan Ahead!! Let's Talk 2025 Food Trends ๐Ÿค—

Hi there

Happy Friday! (In case you missed my previous emails, you can catch them all HERE.)

It's time to start planning our content and researching for the new year (if you haven't yet) since it's just a few weeks away! ๐Ÿซฃ

Being a food blogger, it's important to know, or at least be aware, of the current or even upcoming food trends. So I did a bit of research and wanted to share what I found.

These foods (and topics) are what's predicted to do well this year:

  1. Crunchy Textures
    • (We all know those ASMR videos were all about that crunch!) I honestly don't think crunchy foods will ever be dead. So consider researching terms like "crispy snacks," "crunchy toppings for salads," or "best crunchy chickpeas." Research foods that are tough to get crispy and find a way to make them the crispiest! (These do incredibly well on social too!)
    • It may be worth exploring long-tail keyword phrases like "homemade mushroom chips" or "healthy crunchy snack ideas for kids' lunchboxes". (I'm not sure of the volume on these but it gives you an idea.)
  2. Gut-Healthy Recipes
    • Keywords like "easy prebiotic recipes" or "high-fiber dinner ideas" are expected to spike. This could be great to create round-ups for if you have a few recipes on your site and it fits your niche!
    • Use tools like Google Trends to pinpoint related rising keywords. (I talk about this one in my course.)
  3. Sustainability Searches
    • If it fits your niche, try researching keywords around non-recipe related phrases like "eco-friendly kitchen tips" or "sustainable food storage ideas." (These types of phrases typically offer more traffic then the listed volumes.)
    • Research keywords around eco-friendly tips to tap into the sustainability trend.
    • Then highlight and link to any recipes that are environmentally conscious to attract concerned readers.
  4. Mood-Boosting Meals
    • People are becoming increasingly aware of their emotional and mental wellbeing so consider optimizing for "adaptogen recipes", "stress-relief smoothies", or "healthy snacks to improve focus and concentration" only if this fits your niche of course. (This would not be ideal for my blog.)
  5. Elevated Vinegars
    • A surge in unique vinegar varieties like cucumber, chestnut, and black vinegars will inspire dressings, and reductions are predicted to do well.
  6. Hydration-Focused Beverages
    • Recipes focusing on hydration-focused ingredients such as cactus water, electrolyte-rich popsicles, and chlorophyll water is expected to gain tractionโ€‹.
  7. Tea-Centric Recipes
    • The influence of teas like chai, Earl Grey, and jasmine in desserts, granolas, and milk teas are forecasted to become more prominent.
    • Try to put a spin on that chai latte or maybe infuse some drink recipes with your favorite tea.

With anything, its hard to predict in advance but these topics sound pretty on point with what I have seen trending and continuing to be popular over the last year. Will all of these keywords have a search volume? No, of course not but try to piece together keywords that do even if the modifier does not. If the user intent is there, that's all that matters.

โ€‹

Keyword Tip: Don't forget to take advantage of free tools like AnswerThePublic to identify questions people ask around these topics and create blog posts or guides to answer them! (I talk about this in my courses too.)

I hope this helps you to get ahead of the competition a bit going into the new year!
