Yep, I still stand my ground when I say that long-tail keywords are where it's at. I still have long-tail keywords that are in a #1 position for larger volume keywords YEARS later. Like I talk about in my main keyword course, adding words like "without", "with", "using", "from", "on", "in", etc. are my favorite words to incorporate into my research. They simply allow smaller bloggers the opportunity to reach a more specific user base. Because let’s face it...trying to rank for those big, broad keywords is like bringing a butter knife to a sword fight. That’s why I rely heavily on long-tail keywords. These super-specific phrases are way less competitive and actually bring the people who want what you’re offering right to your site. Think about it. Instead of going after “fried oreos”, you target something like “fried oreos without pancake mix.” Now you’ve got a specific keyword combo that you know people are looking for without the heavier competition getting in the way. *BTW, that's one I'm ranking for so don't get any ideas. 😬 "But Aleka, do I ONLY ever target longer-tail keywords?" No. Like I mention in my courses, don't be afraid to mix it up! That is the biggest way to stay motivated and inspired rather than burning out too early. It's okay to publish that fun and unique french toast casserole you make EVERY year on Black Friday morning..even though it has ZERO search volume. And it's even MORE okay to publish that super broad, competitive recipe targeting "The Best Pancakes" if you can't wait to share them with your people. Just be smart about the percentage of non-researched keywords to researched. If I'm posting 8 recipes a month, I try to make sure 6 of them are well researched and the other 2 are more "open play". Just make sure to have fun with those. :) Black Friday Discount! ✨Starting today, I will be having a Black Friday Sale! Use the code "BlackFriday15" for 15% OFF any course! Talk soon! P.S. In my previous emails, I discussed finding those low-hanging fruit keywords so you spend your time updating content wisely heading into 2025. You can catch those past emails HERE! Today, I'm spilling some tea... You can have your competitors do the hard work for you. The positive aspect of this industry is that we can easily take advantage of what's already out there. And your competitors are already handing it to you on a silver platter. I like to think of it as "borrowing" from their...
